Multiple Targets for Extenders?????

hi

is there any possibility for using a single extender for multiple targetcontrol ids?

for eg..

if u have 10 textboxes and we wan to addfilteredtextboxextender to all the textboxes,can use singlefilteredtextboxextender for all 10 textboxes?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

no, in beta1 an extender must target one server control.

whether it ll affect the performance when using large number of extenders in a single page

Multiple Update Panel Animation Extenders on one page

Hi there!

I'm developing a web user control that contains an Update Panel and uses an Update Panel Animation Extender.
The animation is quite simple: while the panel is updating, it fades out the contents of the update panel and fades in the "please wait while processing..." message...then the animation reverses the process when the panel is Updated. The animation works quite nicely.

The problem I'm facing is when I have more than one of these web user controls on the page at a time (I'm using 8 of these on one page at a time).
If one web user control's update panel does an asynchronous postback, all of the animations are run!

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Thanks in advance,

-Frinny

Hi,

Would you please provide with any code of ypur usercontrol?

Or create a simple repro of this problem?

Thanks,

I forgot that I had posted this question.
I found the solution to my problem a while ago.

The problem I was describing is not actually a problem, it is how the UpdatePanelAnimationExtender works.

Anyways, to get around this problem I ended up using regular Animations instead of the UpdatePanelAnimationExtender.

Cheers!

My Calendar Extender does not display in my Formview

I have two calendar extenders corresponding to a texbox each. They are all inside a Formview. When the textboxes are clicked nothing displays.

I have tried the calendar extender outside the Formview and everything seems to work fine.

I have tried the script manager in and outside the formview to no avail. Is the script manager supposed to be inside the Formview as well ? Any particular place where those controls are supposed to be to function properly??

When I first started to apply the extenders I inserted the script manager control after the extender, I wonder if that may have screwed up things. Althought, I have redone it to no avail. Anyideas ?

I've tried this code and works fine:
 <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server" /> <asp:FormView ID="FormView1" runat="server" DefaultMode="Insert"> <InsertItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <ajaxToolkit:CalendarExtender ID="CalendarExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="TextBox1"> </ajaxToolkit:CalendarExtender> </InsertItemTemplate> </asp:FormView>

You should post your code here to resolve your problem.

Namespace Help Please (Custom Composite Control/Extenders Project)

Ugh! Okay, so here's the situation. I have 2 custom extenders and a compsite control in a dll project. What is the best way to organize the files? I want to be able to access the extenders from any asp page as well.

The extenders are: DropZoneExtender and DragItemExtender
The control is: DragDropRepeater

Here's the file structure I have for the project ..

My problem is that while there are no immediate namespace issues, when the page is loaded I get the familiar "Assertion Failed: Unrecognized tag dropzone:DropZoneBehavior" popup.

Here's what the code looks like:

// DropZoneBehavior.js

Type.registerNamespace('DropZone');
DropZone.DropZoneBehavior = function() {
DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.initializeBase(this);
...
// code
..
}
DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.registerSealedClass('DropZone.DropZoneBehavior', AtlasControlToolkit.BehaviorBase, Sys.UI.IDropTarget);
Sys.TypeDescriptor.addType('DropZone', 'DropZoneBehavior', DropZone.DropZoneBehavior);

// DropZoneExtender.cs#region Assembly Resource Attribute[assembly: System.Web.UI.WebResource("DragDropRepeater.DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.js","text/javascript")]
#endregion
namespace DropZone
{
[ClientScriptResource("DropZone","DropZoneBehavior","DragDropRepeater.DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.js")]
[RequiredScript(FrameworkScript.AtlasUIDragDrop)]
public class DropZoneExtender : ExtenderControlBase
{
}
}
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey,

I tried to fin the post, but no luck. Look for Case - Sensitive on the Atlas lists. The last Atlas Update made changes for Safari, and for some reason it needs the Namespace lowercase.

here is the current Script namespace. Now lowercase.

Sys.UI.DraggableListItem.registerSealedClass('Sys.UI.DraggableListItem', Sys.UI.Behavior);
Sys.TypeDescriptor.addType('script', 'draggableListItem', Sys.UI.DraggableListItem);

So change your:

DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.registerSealedClass('DropZone.DropZoneBehavior', AtlasControlToolkit.BehaviorBase, Sys.UI.IDropTarget);
Sys.TypeDescriptor.addType('dropzone', 'DropZoneBehavior', DropZone.DropZoneBehavior);

also change your

[ClientScriptResource("dropzone", "DropZoneBehavior", "DragDropRepeater.DropZone.DropZoneBehavior.js")]

Here is the link!!!

Good luck.

I figured it out, and actually its a little more complicated. I'm considering making a blog post about it.

Oh and lol .. remember, when you are creating the extenders from scratch .. make sure you mark the javascript files as an embedded resource. *smacks forehead* I used the example of the ReorderList, which is essentially what I'm creating where its based on the non-list versions of the dragdropUI and where reordering is not important, just the dragdrop.

need help with a modal extender control

I am working on a project that has two modal extenders on one page, and two panels. Which have their own separate buttons which can trigger each panel to open. On the same form there is a gridview control, the user will select a row then in the code behind i trigger the click event for one of the button, so that it will oepn one of the panel it seemed to work fine before just using modalextender...1.show() when it stop working i added the code to raisethe click event for the control. After doing so it doesn;t open the panel instead, i have to click the button that that is setup as theTargetControlID two or three time just for the pop up menu to open. What is the right way to go about doing this. I wander if anyone else has had the same problem.

((IPostBackEventHandler)lnkPanel2).RaisePostBackEvent(null);

this.ModalPopupExtender2.Show();

Hi Lew26,

My suggestion is use Javascript to show the ModalPopupExtender directly. For example:

use $find("ModalPopupExtender's BehaviorID ").show(); to show the Panel and use $find("ModalPopupExtender's BehaviorID ").hide(); to hide the showing Panel. The Buttons which will lead the ModalPopupExtender to shown or to hidden should be put inside a hidden div. Take an example: <div style="display:none">your Buttons</div>. Here is my sample:

<%@. Page Language="C#" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"
<script runat="server"
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//Attach a Javascript funtion to the LinkButton.
LinkButton myLinkButton;
for (int i = 0; i < GridView1.Rows.Count; i++)
{
myLinkButton = (LinkButton)GridView1.Rows[i].Cells[4].FindControl("LinkButton1");
myLinkButton.Attributes.Add("onclick", "shopModalPopup('" + GridView1.Rows[i].Cells[0].Text + "');return false;");
}
}
</script
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
