Need pointer to further reading...

Before I start reading your questions, I already had the same idea of using MasterPage based on your description. It won't generate a page that is too large since different contents are on different pages.

The only problem is there will be a flicker once you change to a different tab. But I think it's worthy since we can get a more clear structure.
